At the extraordinary meeting held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, the Legislative Assembly approved Molten as the official ball for Basketball, Volleyball & Soccer and Nike as the offiical ball for Football.   The attached memo provides more details on the distrbution and use of these balls.

The BCSS Board of Directors has called an Extraordinary Meeting to be held virtually on March 13th, 2024, at 3:30pm.  The purpose of the meeting is to vote on the recommendation for offical balls for football, basketball, volleyball and soccer. BC School Sports is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Uber, a global leader in rideshare, ecommerce and delivery technology. As part of this collaboration, Uber will serve as the Presenting Sponsor for the BCSS Girls and Boys Basketball Provincial Championships, our largest event of the year.  Uber will serve as the official rideshare and food delivery partner for BCSS through its newest product in the Greater Vancouver Area—teen accounts. BC School Sports is thrilled to share news of the remarkable increase in student-athlete participation during the 2022-2023 academic year. After the pandemic shut down school sport from March 2020 through to September 2021, there were concerns about its resiliency and sustainability. The over 450 BCSS member schools with a renewed emphasis on physical activity, inclusion, and engagement, drove opportunities for over 117,000 student-athlete registrations across 19 BCSS activities last year.  Please review the full media release.

Attached is a summary of the motions voted on at the 2023 AGM.  We have provided the outcome and the a brief summary of the impact of the motion.  Note that all carried motions will come into effect on August 1, 2023, for the next school year.  
Due to the fires in Northeast BC, and across Alberta we have seen a rapid worsening of air quality in many areas of the province this week. Please see attached memo for guidelines to assist schools in determining the appropriate course of action for various air qualities.
