Student-Athlete Eligibility

BCSS recognizes the right of all student-athletes to choose which school they attend and which subjects they study. However, BCSS is charged with the responsibility of drafting, implementing and enforcing rules on eligibility for those student-athletes who seek the privilege of participating in interschool competition. The overriding purpose of these rules is to ensure fair and equitable competition for all student-athletes participating in BCSS activity.

Individual student-athletes must meet the applicable eligibility requirements of BCSS and any applicable sport commission gender-based equity rule to participate in BCSS competition, and be listed on the appropriate roster on the Student-Athlete Registration System (STARS) to be eligible for competition.
