The BCSS Board of Directors has made the decision to move the upcoming 2021 ‘AAA’ Girls Volleyball Championship that was scheduled to be hosted by Dawson Creek Secondary School in early December. BCSS received numerous messages expressing concern from districts, schools, coaches and parents about travelling to Dawson Creek for the event. After examining the current COVID-19 case numbers, and relatively low vaccination rates in the community the decision was made to move the Championship to a different location.

At the 2020 BCSS AGM, the membership unanimously passed a policy to mandate concussion training for all coaches, teacher sponsors, trainers, and team managers. This training is to be completed prior to any activities (ie practices, tryouts, workouts, etc) with student-athletes taking place. It is the responsibility of the Athletic Director and School Administrator to ensure that all required personnel have completed the training. You are NOT required to submit the completions certification to BCSS however we recommend the AD require it from team personnel as BCSS may ask for proof of certification at any point. Certifications MUST be done through CATT and are valid for 2 years before needing re-certification.
Anticipating a gradual restart this fall we are currently seeking a number of host schools for upcoming championships. BCSS Relies heavily on its member schools to support and run successful championships. Currently we are seeking hosts for several upcoming championships, and we require your assistance, as members, to ensure that these championships are well executed.  Attached you will find a package outlining the available school-based championships, as well as opportunities to participate on a championship host committee for a number of BCSS centralized championships.
