BCSS DAVE GIFFORD MEMORIAL SCHOALRSHIP: ($1,500) ERICA MCGUINNESS (Handsworth Secondary)

  • 4.0 GPA for grade 12 projected (3.71 in grade 11)
  • Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, Track & Field
  • North Shore 1st Team All-star in 01 and 02 in track and basketball, MVP, BC High School Athlete of the Year 02, Nationally Carded Athlete, Handsworth Secondary School Athlete of the Year
  • Handsworth 2003 Outstanding Graduate Award and Honor Roll
  • Volunteered as assistant coach and referee
  • Will be playing for UBC Woman's Basketball Team

  • Volunteered as a home care nurse, organizing Christmas parties for the disabled, tutor to junior physical education class

KIMBERLY HEYS (D.W. Poppy Secondary)

  • Top Athlete (gr.12), Outstanding Academic and Athletics (gr.10), Top Math Award (gr.10), Top Athlete (gr.8-10), Top P.E. Student (gr.8-10)
  • Competed in beach volleyball at the BC Summer Games 2002,
  • Volunteered as referee and coach for junior teams
  • Selected for Team BC this summer and will be joining the varsity volleyball team at UBC
  • Will be playing for UBC Woman's Basketball Team
